Import quota

 On 12 August 2015, the Indonesian Ministry of Trade issued regulation 62/M-DAG/PER/8/2015 restricting the imports of cellulose nitrates (HS code 3912.20).
With the new provisions, cellulose nitrates may only be imported for the needs of the industry, defense and security (art. 2(1) of the regulation) and their import quotas will be coordinated between ministries (art. 4). Concrete quotas were not specified in the regulation.
Furthermore, the importers will require a trading ("IT-NC") or production license ("IP-NC"), which will have to be renewed annually.
The regulation shall come into force on 1 January 2016.
