On 11 August 2014, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) issued Resolution no. 64 increasing the import quota on adiponitrile from 30'700 tons to 34'000 tons, taking effect 12 August 2014. The good is classified under the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM) 2926.90.91.
For the introduction of the tariff-rate quota on adiponitrile, please see measure no. 6598 under Related Measures.
On 30 October 2014, the tariff-rate quota on adiponitrile was supended by Camex Resolution no. 101/14. The reason for this was that Mercosur reduced the Common External Tariff from 12% to 2% on adiponitrile rendering the quota redundant.
