On 17 June 2025, the government of Canada announced additional sanctions against Russia in response to the ongoing invasion of Ukraine. The package includes export restrictions on goods related to weapons and the production of sensitive technologies, as well as import restrictions on coal and metals. The government also announced sanctions on the Russian quantum sector.
