Argentina's Ministry of Production has established non-automatic licensing requirements for certain apparel, textile made-ups, air conditioners, furniture, domestic appliances and an array of additional products imported into Argentina for consumption. These measures are effective from 25 March 2009.
Shipments of subject merchandise in a customs zone in Argentina or in transit to the country as of 25 March will be exempted from the licensing requirement. The ministry will be responsible for issuing exemption certificates to interested parties. Any exemptions for subject merchandise will lapse if an importer does not file an import application for that merchandise by 24 May.
Please note that another posting on Argentina's non-automatic licensing regime has been made.
