Anti-dumping

On January 7th, 2015, the Indian Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of methyl acetoacetate from China and the United States of America. The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: 2918.3040. This follows an application lodged by Laxmi Organic Industries Ltd.
 
On 31 May 2016, the Indian Ministry of Finance issued the Customs Notification imposing a definitive anti-dumping duty methyl acetoacetate from China and the United States of America (Notification No. 22/2016-Customs (ADD), 31.05.2016). The products subject to duty are classified under the following HS code subheadings: 2914.69.90, 2915.39.10, 2915.39.40, 2915.39.90, 2918.30.40, 2918.30.90, 2933.19.90, 2941.10.90 and 2918.99.00. The amount of duty imposed on imports originating in or exported from China is between USD 0.277 and USD 0.404 per kg depending on the company. The amount of the duty imposed on imports originating in or exported from the United States is USD 0.293 per kg. This definitive duty is effective for a period of five years.
