Anti-dumping

On July 11, 2014, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of zinc coated galvanised steel (flat rolled iron or steel products, whether or not containing alloys, that are plated or coated with zinc) from India and Vietnam (Anti-dumping Notice No. 2014/55).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 7210.4900, 7212.3000, 7225.9200 and 7226.9900.
The complaint was lodged on May 8, 2014 by BlueScope Steel Limited.

On October 29, 2014, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission extended the time granted to issue the Statement of Essential Facts (Anti-Dumping Notice No. 2014/117, 29.10.2014).

On March 18, 2015, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission further extended the time granted to issue the Statement of Essential Facts (Anti-Dumping Notice No. 2015/37, 18.03.2015).

On May 11th, 2015, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission extended again the time granted to issue the Statement of Essential Facts (Anti-Dumping Notice No. 2015/60, 11.05.2015).

On July 30th, 2015, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission terminated the investigation without imposing any anti-dumping measure (Anti-Dumping Notice No. 2015/93, 30.07.2015). Reason for termination is that for some companies no dumping was found and, in general, the volume of dumped goods exported from Vietnam was negligible while the injury, if any, caused to the Australian industry by dumped goods exported from India was negligible.
