In March 2010, the government of India initiated a new anti-dumping investigation. In June 2011 a definitive antidumping duty was imposed. The duty was extended in June 2017.

Anti-dumping

On March 26, 2010, the Indian authorities initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of pentaerythritol from China and Sweden. The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: 2905.4210.
 
On March 25, 2011, the Indian authorities issued their final findings of the sunset review. They recommended the continuation of the existing anti-dumping measure on imports from China and the termination of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports from Sweden since there is no likelihood of continuation or recurrence of injury from Sweden (due to low volumes of imports).
 
On June 14, 2011, the Indian authorities issued the notification of extension of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of pentaerythritol from China (Notification No. 47/2011-Customs, 14.06.2011). This duty is effective for a period of five years.
 
On 7 June 2016, the Indian authorities initiated a sunset review of the above-mentioned anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of the subject goods originating in or exported from China. This follows the application lodged by Kanoria Chemicals and Industries Limited.
 
On 13 June 2016, the Indian Ministry of Finance issued the Customs Notification extending the definitive anti-dumping duty for one year i.e. until 13 June 2017 (Notification No. 26/2016-Customs (ADD), 13.06.2016).

On 22 June 2017, the Indian Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue extended the definitive antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from China following the conclusion the above sunset review. The rate of duty is USD 185.15 per tonne. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
