Import-related non-tariff measure, nes

On 28 August 2013, Indonesia released a new regulation on meat, offal and processed meat. The regulation foresees the introduction of:

  • A reference price system where the issue of import permits will be stopped when the market price falls under the reference price.
  • Processed turkey and chicken is not permitted for trade.
  • Import volumes are determined for each import permit (importer) individually.

Update
On 28 January 2016, the Indonesian Ministry of Trade announced regulation 05/M-DAG/PER/01/2016, scrapping the regulation described above (cf. Related Measures). However, as not all restrictions mentioned above were lifted, this measure continues to be classified as implemented.
