In May 2021, the government of the Philippines increased import duties on fresh, chilled or frozen meat of swine temporarily both for in-quota and out-of- quota imports.

Import tariff
On 15 May 2021, the Philippines issued Executive Order No. 134, temporarily increasing the out-quota import duties on fresh, chilled, or frozen swine meat from 20% to 25%.
The out-quota tariff applied to imports of fresh, chilled, or frozen swine meat above the concessionary access level at 54,210 MT in 2021, and this amount did not change from 2020.
On top of this action, the regulation also changed the in-quota duty (see related intervention).

This new import duty applies to a quota of 54,210 MT in 2021. The annual import quota on fresh, chilled, or frozen swine meat did not change from 2020 to 2021.
