On August 2, 2013, the Indonesian authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of partially oriented yarn from China, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, South Korea and Thailand.
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 5402.3300.
 
On October 31, 2014, the Indonesian authorities terminated the investigation concerning imports originating in China, Chinese Taipei and South Korea without imposing any duty. Reason for this decision is national interest.
 
On January 19, 2015 the Indonesian authorities decided to impose an anti-dumping duty on imports of partially oriented yarn originating in Malaysia and Thailand (Regulation of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia No. 14/PMK. 010/2015). The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in Malaysia is 9.3%. The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in Thailand is 13.3%, at the exception of the company Thai Polyester Co. Ltd. whose exports are not subject to the payment of a duty.
According to the Regulation of the Indonesian authorities, the goods subject to the duty are classified under HS code 5402.4600 and not 5402.3300 (as mentioned in the WTO semi-annual reports).
This definitive anti-dumping duty entered into force on the day of enactment of the resolution, i.e. on January 21, 2015, and is applicable for a period of five years.

The definitive duty was terminated on 20 January 2020.
