Import tariff

On 15 March 2022, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) announced Decision N.41 temporarily eliminating the import duty on industrial fatty alcohols. The import tariff was previously set at 5%. The decision is in force between 14 April 2022 and 31 March 2025.

In this context, the Director of the EEC Tariff and Non-tariff Customs Regulation Department, Vahagn Ghazaryan, stated: "the adopted measure of customs tariff regulation will help support the Union countries’ manufacturers of surfactants, reduce production costs as well as improve competitiveness in the EAEU internal market".
