On 11 June 2009, the Kyrgyz Republic imposed a provisional safeguard duty on imports of wheat flour. The rate of duty is 3 som per 1kg (national currency) (approx. USD 0.07). The products subject to duties are classified under the following HS code subheading: 1101.00.
The investigation was initiated on April 28, 2009.
On November 10, 2009 final safeguard measure was imposed and will remain in place until November 10, 2010.
The safeguard duties are the following:
10 November 2009 - 26 August 2010: 3 som per 1kg (national currency) (approx. USD 0.07).
27 August - November 2010: 1 som per 1 kg (national currency) (approx. USD 0.07).
On 10 November 2010, the above safeguard duty expired.
