Public procurement localisation
On July 7, 2012, the Government of Argentina ordered through Decree 1188/2012 that government entities can acquire motor vehicles for public services exclusively through leasing contracts of NACIÓN LEASING S.A., a subsidiary of the Banco de la Nación, a state owned bank. NACIÓN LEASING S.A. only makes leasing contracts for imported capital goods if there are no local alternatives available.
The measure took effect on July 19, 2012.
