Tax or social insurance relief

On 18 July 2012, the President of the Republic, Hugo Chavez Frias, adopted Decree No. 9.102 which temporarily eliminates the Value Added Tax (VAT) on imports of goods for use in the national election such as paper, voting cabins,IT equipment, voting machines, printing machines, monitors, routers, antennas, etc.
 
This measure entered into force on 20 July 2012 for a period of two years.
