On 29 June 2010, Ecuador's Trade and Investment Board (Consejo de Comercio Exterior e Inversiones COMEXI) adopted Resolution No. 571 modifying the import tariffs on batteries and cells. The import tariff on rechargeable batteries and cells was reduced to 0 per cent and the import tariff on non-rechargeable batteries and cells was increased to 25 per cent. This measure entered into force on 13 July 2010.
