In April 2020, the authorities of Antigua and Barbuda announced the elimination of import duties on essential relief items including sanitizers, hygiene products and food supplements.

On 23 April 2020, the Customs and Excise Division of Antigua and Barbuda announced the elimination of import tariffs on COVID-19 relief essential items. The list of products refers to 38 tariff lines related to medical supplies such as disinfectants, face masks, PPE and gloves, as well as hygiene products, food supplements and cleaning products.
According to the announcement, the usually applicable import tariff ranges between 5% and 20% depending on the product.
In addition to the elimination of import duties, the measure also affects other import taxes (please, see related intervention).
The Customs and Excise Division of Antigua and Barbuda announced on 23 April 2020, the elimination of taxes on the importation of COVID-19 relief essential items. The list of affected products includes 38 tariff lines related to medical supplies such as disinfectants, face masks, PPE and gloves, as well as hygiene products, food supplements and cleaning products.
In addition to the elimination of internal taxes applicable to imports, the measure also eliminates all import tariffs (please, see related intervention).
