On May 12th, 2020, a spokesperson from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that four of Australia's largest beef exporters had had their licenses suspended with immediate effect.
This invalidates their products from sale in the PRC, Australia's biggest beef export destination.
The reason given by the ministry was due to issues with product labelling, the exact same offence having been committed by all four firms independently, according to the Chinese authorities.
