On 7 November 2019, the Indian authorities initiated a safeguard investigation on imports of polybutadiene rubber from the Republic of Korea. The products subject to investigation are classified under HS code subheading 4002.20.00. This follows an application lodged by Reliance Industries Limited. Notably, the safeguard investigation is initiated under the 2017 rules concerning the Bilateral Safeguard Measures of the India-Korea Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
