On 6 August 2019, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia has adopted Decree 1419/2019 changing the applicable import tariff on certain articles of apparel and clothes.

In particular, the new import duties have been set at 37.9% for products with a FOB value equal or below USD 20.00 per kilogramme, and 10% plus USD 3.00 per kilogramme for products with a FOB value greater than USD 20.00 per kilogramme. The new legislation applies only products classified under tariffs subheadings 61 and 62, as well as it is limited to countries with which Colombia does not have any Free Trade Agreement.
