In June 2019, the European Investment Bank (EIB) signed a loan agreement with Mauna Kea Technologies SA to support its product development related to certain medical microscopes.

On 20 June 2019, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Mauna Kea Technologies SA signed a loan agreement having a total value of EUR 22 million (approx. USD 25 million). The loan will support the company's product development related to medical microscopes. More specifically, the company aims at developing new "in-vivo endo-microscope" to be used in connection with biopsies and other surgical procedures.
Mauna Kea Technologies SA is headquartered in France and is a developer and producer medical microscopes. The company's products are sold in more than 40 countries worldwide.
