The Mexican Government has passed a new agreement increasing the duty-free quota set on imports of poultry.

On 24 May 2017, the Mexican Secretariat of Economy has passed an Agreement increasing the total duty-free quota allowed for poultry until 31 December 2019.
The new total quota has been set at 355,000 tonnes while the previous duty-free quota was set at 300,000 tonnes per year.
According to the WTO tariff database, the applicable import duty outside the quota ranges between 62% and 75%.
This legislation only applies to products under HS Codes 020711, 020712, 020713 and 020714.
