ANNOUNCEMENT 10 Feb 2019

On 10 February 2019, the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry issued Ministerial Decree no. 99/2019 extending the export duty imposed by Ministerial Decree no. 91/2018 for one year with some rates changed. On 10 February 2020, the export duty on talc blocks was extended without change whilst decreasing duty level on Feldspar ore and powder.

Export tax

On 10 February 2019, the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry issued Ministerial Decree no. 99/2019 extending the export duty imposed by Ministerial Decree no. 91/2018 for one year with some rates changed.  

Accordingly, the export duty on talc blocks (HS 2526) will be with a rate of 1200 EGP/tonne (68.30 USD/tonne) instead of 900 EGP/tonne (49.24 USD/tonne) in the preceding Decree. Furthermore, one item was introduced which is Feldspar powder (HS 2529) with a rate of 200 EGP/Ton (11.38 USD/tonne).

The Decree also does not apply to imports of free zones according to certain quantities specified by the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones.

On 10 February 2020, the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry issued Ministerial Decree no. 69/2020 extending the above export duty on talc blocks (HS 2526) without change whilst decreasing the export duty on Feldspar powder, see related state act.

On 10 February 2019, the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry issued Ministerial Decree no. 99/2019 extending the export duty imposed by Ministerial Decree no. 91/2018 for one year with some rates changed.  

Accordingly, export duty on Feldspar ore (HS 2529) will be with a rate of 300 EGP/tonne (17.08 USD/tonne) instead of 400 EGP/tonne (21.88 USD/tonne) in the preceding Decree no. 145/2017. 

The Decree also does not apply to imports of free zones according to certain quantities specified by the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones.

On 10 February 2020, the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry issued Ministerial Decree no. 69/2020 decreasing the export duty on Feldspar ore, see related state act.
