Import quota

On June 26, 2012, the Government of Argentina announced the temporary suspension, for the next three years, of the application of the provisions established under the Economic Complementation Agreement No. 55 (ACE 55), which contemplates free trade on vehicles (and some auto parts) between Mexico and each of the Member States of the MERCOSUR.
 
The suspension will be effective after the government of Argentina communicates its decision to the other Signatory Parties of the ACE 55.
 
Update:
On December 13, 2012, the authorities of Mexico and Argentina signed theFourth Additional Protocol to Appendix I of the EconomicComplementation Agreement No. 55 (ACE No. 55). This Protocol established import quotas for the years 2013-2015. Mexican andArgentineanvehicles could be imported under these quotas duty free. Starting March 19, 2015 the quotas will be eliminated.
