Financial grant

On April 1st, 2015 the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) provided a budget of 1.15 billion yen (10.81 million USD) to promote the research and development for hyperspectral imaging technology for satellites and sensors for the purpose of locating petroleum resources. METI seeks to purchase the data provided by these satellites to locate profitable petroleum resources for future exploitation.
