The Argentine Government introduced several new classifications for flash memory cards leading to the establishment of new reference prices. In addition, it increased the import criterion values set on artificial teeth.

Import tariff

On 10 February 2009, the Federal Administration for Public Revenue of Argentina (i.e. AFIP by its Spanish acronym) adopted External Notice 8/2009 changing the reference prices set on imports of flash memory cards classified under tariffs subheading NCM 8523.51.00. 

The new legislation introduced multiple definitions and categories of products leading to the establishment of seven different reference prices ranging between a FOB value of USD 4.50 and USD 15.80 per unit depending on the product classification. Previously, as established in External Notice 91/2008, there was only one product category with a reference price of USD 9.50 per unit.

This External Notice affects the following jurisdictions: the Republic of Korea, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, China, Chinese Taipei, Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

This measure applied to imports taking place as of 11 February 2009.

The new reference prices were increased from a FOB value of USD 0.50 per unit to USD 0.60 per unit. 

This External Notice affects the following jurisdictions: Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay. 

This measure applied to imports taking place as of 11 February 2009.
