In October 2018, the European Investment Bank (EIB) signed a credit line agreement with Crédit Agricole Cariparma S.p.A. to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-cap companies in Italy.

State loan

The credit line agreement between the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Crédit Agricole Cariparma S.p.A. was signed on 5 October 2018 and has a total value of EUR 100 million (approx. USD 115 million).

More specifically the credit line will, through Crédit Agricole Italia, support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-cap companies in the tourism, industry, services and agriculture sectors in Italy through medium or long-term loans. A minimum of 70% of the credit line is dedicated to SMEs.

In this context, the EIB notes that: "This project (ed. the credit line) will improve competitiveness and access to finance at favourable conditions for SMEs and mid-caps."

A state act in the GTA database is assessed solely in terms of the extent to which its implementation affects foreign commercial interests. On this metric, the investment support granted here is discriminatory.
