Import tariff

On June 5, 2018, the Collegium of the Eurasian Economic Commission (the executive body of the Eurasian Economic Union) modified duties on dozens of items, effective 1 September 2018. These modifications could be grouped into three categories:

  1. waivers and reductions of duties to the bound rates
  2. increases of duties up to bound rates (3-15% depending on the item, to enter into force on dates varying between 1 January 2019 and 2021).
  3. suspension of the above (category 2) tariff increases with varying dates.

Since the waivers and reductions (category 1) were implemented in line with Russia's WTO obligations, they are not covered by the GTA, which only reports unilateral actions. Categories 2 and 3 are covered in the two interventions below, with varying termination dates.

On 11 December 2018, the Collegium extended the waiver on phosphates (tariff line 2510 20 000) from 5 January 2019 to 5 January 2020.
