Import tariff

In September 2009, pursuant to a WTO dispute, the Chinese government announced it was abandoning a policy from 2006 whereby certain imported cars would be subject to a 25% 'charge', which was deemed by the WTO investigation to be tantamount to an import tariff.

The official import tariff of 10% was not affected.
