Financial grant

On March 30, 2017 Minister of National Defence Harjit S. Sajjan announced a Can.$1.26 billion (U.S.$973 million) Strategic Innovation Fund to “ensure that Canada remains a top destination for businesses to invest, grow and create jobs.” This new fund will be available to aerospace and automotive firms, and will be expanded to support high-growth sectors such as clean technology, information and communications technology, and agri-food. The fund is part of the government's Innovation and Skills Plan.
