A requirement to obtain a NOC for pharmaceutical exports to the USA, Canada, Japan, Australia and the EU has been removed.

On 11 December 2015, the Indian Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSO) through an official notice removed the compulsion to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the CDSO for shipping bills of export consignments of drugs, medical devices or cosmetics to the USA, Canada, Japan, Australia and the EU.
This intervention is valid from 1 January 2016.
The requirement was later relaxed for all countries on 21 March 2018 (see related State Act).
