On October 25, 2011, the Government of Argentina introduced reference prices applicable to the importation of certain types of machinery for the preparation of meat or poultry from China, and other Asian countries. The products subject to this measure are classified under the following tariff line of the MERCOSUR's Harmonized System: 8438.50.00.
These reference prices entered into force on October 27, 2011.
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature forimported goods in June 2005 (in Spanish:valorescriteriodecarácterpreventivo).Thestatedpurpose is tostrengthencustomscontrolandpreventunder-invoicing.
