On 21 July 2011, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) announced the 2011 second batch of export quota for Radix Glycyrrhiza and the products made of it. 46 companies were qualified as Radix Glycyrrhiza exporters for the second batch quotas.
2011 First batch quotas (t): 3 879.999
2011 Second batch quotas (t): 2 035
2011 Total (t): 5 941.999
2010 Total (t): 6 500
The second batch quota for Radix Glycyrrhiza is 2,035 t, while the first batch export quota is 3,879.999t, with the total 2011 export quota is 5,941.999 t, and the total 2010 export quota is 6,500t, decreased with 8.6 % year-on-year base.
Radix Glycyrrhiza is a commonly used Chinese herbal medicine, derived from the dried roots and rhizomes of Glycyrrhiza uralensis, G. glabra and G. inflata.
