In March 2017, the Indian Directorate General of Antidumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of fishing nets from Bangladesh and China. In April 2018, definitive duties were imposed. In September 2022, a sunset review was initiated on the imports of the subject good from China. In January 2023, the duty was extended until July 2023. In February 2023, an anti-circumvention investigation on imports from Malaysia was initiated. In April 2023, the duty was extended until September 2023. In August 2023, a definitive duty was imposed on imports originating from China. In August 2023, a definitive countervailing duty was imposed on imports originating from Malaysia.
