In September 2009, the government of China initiated a new anti-subsidy investigation. In August 2010, a definitive duty was imposed and in August 2016 it was extended. In February 2018, the definitive duty was terminated.

Anti-subsidy

On 27 September 2009, the Chinese authorities initiated an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of broiler products or chicken products originating from the US. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheadings: 0207.11, 0207.12, 0207.13, 0207.14 and 0504.00.
 
On 30 April 2010, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China imposed a provisional countervailing duty on imports of the subject good originating in the United States (MOFCOM Announcement No. 26 of 2010). The rate of duty is between 3.8% and 31.4% depending on the company.
 
On 30 August 2010, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China imposed a definitive countervailing duty on imports of the subject good from the United States (MOFCOM Announcement No. 52 of 2010). The rate of duty is between 4% and 30.3% depending on the company. The measure is in force for a period of five years.
 
On 7 July 2014, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China amended the countervailing duty imposed by MOFCOM announcement No. 52 (MOFCOM Announcement No. 44 of 2014). The decision follows a reinvestigation of the duty. The countervailing duty is between 4% and 4.2% depending on the company.
 
On 31 August 2015, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China announced the initiation of a sunset review of the countervailing duty imposed on imports of subject good from the United States of America (MOFCOM Announcement No. 33 of 2015). It follows the application for a review lodged on 23 June 2015 by the China Animal Agriculture Association on behalf of the domestic industry. The investigation started on 30 August 2015 and shall last for one year. The existing countervailing duty remains in force during the review.
 
On 30 August 2016, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China extended the countervailing duty on imports of the subject good from the United States. The countervailing duty is the same as stipulated in announcement 44 of 2014, i.e. between 4% and 4.2% depending on the company. The measure is in force for a period of five years.

On 27 February 2018, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China terminated the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from the United States. This follows the application lodged on 26 December 2017 by the domestic industry entities involved in the original countervailing case. Additionally, an antidumping duty was also terminated, see related state act.
