The current version of the Petroleum (Exploration, Development, Production and Value Addition) Act 2010, debated in the Ugandan parliament, contains a local input requirement for petroleum firms. The act seeks to give priority to citizens of the country and registered firms owned by Ugandans in the provision of goods and services.
Update: This proposal became law in 2012 (see PWC source below.) The law includes local content requirements for goods, services, and employment and training of nationals.
