Anti-dumping

On 16 September 2016, the Brazilian authorities initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of acetic esters from the United States and Mexico (Circular No. 58 of 16 September 2016). The product subject to investigation is classified under HS codes subheadings: 2915.31.00 and 2915.39.31. The complaint was lodged on 28 July 2016 by Rhodia Poliamida e Especialidades Ltda.
 
On 17 February 2017, the Brazilian authorities imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of the subject good from the United States and Mexico (Resolution No. 4 of 2017). The rate of the duty on import from the United States is USD 139.78 or 408.47 per tonne depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from Mexico is USD 232.35 or 619.75 per tonne depending on the company. The duty is in force for a period of 6 months.

On 22 August 2017, the Brazilian authorities imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from the United States and Mexico. The rate of duty on imports from the United States is USD 110.88 or 453.86 per tonne depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from Mexico is between USD 198.46 and 688.61 per tonne depending on the company. The measure is in force for a period of five years.
