From 1 January 2010, the Turkish government raises import duties on bream fish. As was notified by the Permanent Delegation of Turkey to the WTO, companies from EU member countries must now pay duties of 34 percent, companies from non-EU members are subject to a tariff of 37 percent.
Prior to the change in regualtion, the tariff line had been duty free.
By virtue of the EU-Turkey Customs Union Agreement of December 22, 1995, the tariffs do not apply to products from EU member states.
