Anti-dumping

On June 30, 2008, the Mexican Ministry of Economy decided to initiate a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of steel chains with welded links (weight not exceeding 15 kilograms per metre) from China.
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 7315.8202.
This review follows the application lodged on May 29, 2008 by Deacero, S.A. de C.V. The investigation started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on July 11, 2008.
On December 4, 2009, the Mexican authorities terminated the review and decided upon the continuation of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of steel chains from China. The amount of this definitive duty is USD 0.50 per kilogram. This duty shall be enforced for a period of five years, starting from July 17, 2008. The resolution was published in the Official Journal of the Federation on January 5, 2010.
 
The original anti-dumping duty was decided on July 8, 2003 and entered into force on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on July 18, 2003.
 
On June 27, 2013, the Mexican Ministry of Economy decided to initiate a second sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of steel chains with welded links (weight not exceeding 15 kilograms per metre) from China.
This review follows the application lodged on June 11 and 12, 2013 by Deacero, S.A. de C.V. and Industrial de Alambres, S.A. de C.V. respectively. The investigation started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on July 9, 2013.
On July 4, 2014, the Mexican authorities terminated the review and decided upon the continuation of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of steel chains from China. The amount of this definitive duty remains USD 0.50 per kilogram. This duty shall be enforced for a period of five years, starting from July 18, 2013. The resolution was published in the Official Journal of the Federation on July 21, 2014.
