Production subsidy

On 7 August 2015, the Indian state of Kerala extended its Rubber Production Incentive Scheme to Rubber Latex. The scheme originally covered only rubber sheets. The incentive is available mainly to small farmers who own less than 5 hectares of land and the assistance will be available up to 2 hectares for each farmer & up to 1800 kg. production per hectare per year.

As part of the assistance, the farmers will be paid the difference between Rs. 142 and the market price for the latex, hence assuring a price of Rs. 142/kg. The government has earmarked INR 3000 million for this scheme (see related measure).
