On 13 December 2017, the European Commission initiated an anti-circumvention investigation on imports citric acid from Cambodia. This investigation follows suspicion that the definitive antidumping duty imposed by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/82 on imports of the same products originating in China might be circumvented (see related intervention). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheadings: 2918.14.00 and 2918.14.00. The investigation follows the application lodged on 30 October 2017 by the European industry manufacturing citric acid.

On 14 September 2018, the European Commission terminated the anti-circumvention investigation on imports of the subject good from Cambodia without the imposition of duties.
