NoOn 19 December 2011, the EC decided to suspend the common customs tariff on a multitude of goods, especially agricultural, fishery and industrial products. This tariff liberalisation will enter into force on 1 January 2012. The suspension can be a partial or total and is product dependent.
The suspension is limited in time. While for some goods the expiry date is 31 December 2012, other suspensions can last until 31 December 2013 or even 31 December 2016.
With the introduction of Regulation 1387/2013, the initial Regulation 1344/2011 is repealed and this measure therefore expires with the entry into force of Regulation 1387/2013 on 1 January 2014.
