On October 8, 2014, the European Commission announced the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation on imports of aluminium foils (of a thickness of not less than 0,008 mm and not more than 0,018 mm, not backed, not further worked than rolled, in rolls of a width not exceeding 650 mm and of a weight exceeding 10 kg) from Russia (Notice No 2014/C 354/13).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: ex 7607.1119.
The complaint was lodged on August 25, 2014 by AFM Aluminiumfolie Merseburg GmbH, Alcomet AD, Eurofoil Luxembourg SA, Hydro Aluminium Rolled Products GmbH and Impold.o.o. on behalf of producers representing more than 25% of the EU production of the subject goods.

On July 3rd, 2015, the European Commission decided to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of the above-mentioned products originating in Russia (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 2015/1081). The rate of this duty is 12.2% of the net free-at-Union-frontier price. This provisional duty entered into force on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the European Union (L 175), i.e. on July 5th, 2015, and will apply for a period of six months.
On 19 December 2015, the European Commission imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of the above-mentioned products originating in Russia (Commission Regulation (EU) No 2015/2385 of 18 December 2015). The rate of this duty is 12.2% of the net free-at-Union-frontier price.

On 17 December 2020, the European Commission terminated the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China from 19 December 2020. The duty is terminated as it was set to expire.
