On 30 October 2010, Ecuador's Trade and Investment Board (Consejo de Comercio Exterior e Inversiones COMEXI) adopted Resolution No. 592 temporarily eliminating import tariffs on jute bags and sacks. This measure entered into force on 25 November 2010 for the period of six months.
On 1 March 2012, Ecuador's Trade Committee (Comité de Comerico Exterior COMEX) adopted Resolution No. 46 temporarily eliminating import tariffs on jute bags and sacks. This measure is effective between 28 March 2012 and 31 December 2014.
On 12 January 2015, Ecuador's Trade Committee through adopting Resolution No. 001-2015extended the temporary elimination of import tariffs on sacks of jute until 31 December 2017.
