The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is proposing in a June 12, 2012 Federal Register notice 'http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2012-06-12/html/2012-14184.htm' to amend the Cotton Board Rules and Regulations by increasing the value assigned to imported cotton for calculating supplemental assessments collected for use by the Cotton Research and Promotion Program. The current assessment on imported cotton is $0.012665 per kilogram of imported cotton. The proposed assessment is $0.014109, an increase of $0.001444 per kilogram.
