Anti-dumping

On 5 October 2016, the Indian Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of toluene diisocyanate originating in or exported from China, Japan and the Republic of Korea. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 2929.10.20. This investigation follows the application lodged by Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited.

On 5 June 2017, the Indian Ministry of Finance imposed a provisional antidumping duty on the subject goods from China, Japan and the Republic of Korea. The amount of the duty on imports from China is USD 0.26 per kilogram. The amount of the duty on imports from Japan is USD 0.14 per kilogram. The amount of the duty on imports from the Republic of Korea is between USD 0.17 and 0.40 per kilogram. The provisional duty is in force for a period of six months.

On 23 January 2018, the Indian authorities imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of toluene diisocyanate from China, Japan and the Republic of Korea. The rate of duty on imports from China is USD 0.26 per kg. The rate of duty on imports from Japan is USD 0.15 per kg. The rate of duty on imports from the Republic of Korea is between USD 0.22 and 0.44 per kg depending on the company. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
