State loan

On 7 April 2016 the government-owned Argentine Bank Banco Provincia launched a new loan scheme which favors domestic kiwi producers.

Under the new scheme of Banco Provincia, credit is extended at a fixed rate of 6 percentage points thanks to subsidies by the Argentine Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. Only kiwi producers in the region of Mar del Plata are eligible for the scheme. The maximum amount awarded by this credit line is 2.5 million pesos (USD 164.728) for up to ten years and with a grace period of one year.

A state measure in the GTA database is assessed solely in terms of the extent to which its implementation affects the extent of discrimination against foreign commercial interests. On this metric, the state aid proposed here is discriminatory.
