Safeguard

On 7 November 2009, the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) initiated a safeguard investigation on imports of certain steel angles, channels and beams. According to the World Trade Organization's Trade Monitoring Database the products subject to investigation are classified under HS code subheadings: 7216.10, 7216.21, 7216.31, 7216.32, 7216.33, 7216.40, 7216.50. On the same day another safeguard investigation was initiated on uncoated paper and paper board, see related measure.
The GCC member states are the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates.
 
On 9 May 2010, the investigation was terminated without the imposition of duties.
