 On 1 December 2011, the European Commission published regulation 1238/2011 amending the quantitative limits on out-of-quota exports of sugar and isoglucose (cf. Related Measures).
The quantitative limit for sugar was raised from 650'000 tonnes to 1'350'000 tonnes for the period until 30 September 2012. For the same time frame, the limit for isoglucose was raised from 50'000 tonnes to 70'000 tonnes.
On 9 May 2012, the EC published regulation 394/2012 on the limits for the marketing year 2012/13. The regulation lowered the limit for sugar to 700'000 tonnes. However, as the quantitative limit for isoglucose remained unchanged at 70'000 tonnes, this measure was prolonged. Since then, the isolgucose limit was prolonged:

  • for the period from 1 October 2012 to 30 September 2013 by regulation 394/2012
  • for the period from 1 October 2013 to 30 September 2014 by regulation 476/2013
  • for the period from 1 October 2014 to 30 September 2015 by regulation 776/2014
  • for the period from 1 October 2015 to 30 September 2016 by regulation 1164/2015.
