NoOn 14 January 2016, the Indian Directorate General of Anti-dumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of styrene butadiene rubber of the 1500 series and 1700 series, originating in or exported from the European Union, the Republic of Korea and Thailand. The products subject to investigation are classified in part under the following HS code subheading: 4002.19. This investigation follows the application lodged by Indian Synthetic Rubber Pvt. Limited and Reliance Industries Limited.
On 30 August 2017, the Indian authorities imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from the European Union, the Republic of Korea and Thailand. The rate of duty on imports from the European Union is USD 207.4 or 266 per tonne. The rate of duty on imports from the Republic of Korea is between USD 28.68 and 64 per tonne. The rate of duty on imports from Thailand is USD 243.6 per tonne. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
