On 1 January 2012 the government of Malaysia decreased the custom duty on various steel and iron goods and articles thereof as well as calcium carbide and specific unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons from 25% to 20%. Other specified flat rolled iron and non-alloy steel coated or platted with tin are decreased from 15% to 10%. Additionally custom duties are decreased on various polyethylene in primary forms and propylene copolymers in primary forms from 20% to 15% as well as threaded elbows, bends and sleeves of stainless steel and dump trucks for highway use from 10% to 5%.
This Order was revoked by virtue of Custom Duties Order 2012 of 30 August 2012.
